Due to popular demand the following are a list of Quebec businesses that deserve or do NOT deserve your business, based on their sign policy.
If/When you receive unilingual French catalogues/brochures please inform the retailer/restaurant that you avoid shopping/eating at businesses that don’t advertise bilingually.
Please share this post and save it, as it will be updated on a regular basis.
Please suggest names for either of the lists via a comment at the bottom of the blog.
Please congratulate those in the Hall of Fame for their sign policy and tell those on the Wall of Shame why you don’t shop there!
THE HALL OF FAME
The following business post bilingual signs and in our humble opinion deserve your business:
IKEA (St. Laurent), SWISS VIENNA BAKERY (Pointe Claire Plaza), Dagwood’s Submarines, Second Cup, The Bay (Fairview+Dorval ONLY), Sears (Fairview ONLY), some Subway restaurants
THE WALL OF SHAME
The following businesses do NOT post bilingual signs. Do they deserve your business?
SAQ, Starbucks, The Brick, David’s Tea, Reitman’s, Sears (Only posts bilingual in Fairview), The Bay (only posts bilingually in Fairview/Dorval)
